As fall ends and we head into winter, I sometimes yearn for the exciting days of the 1970’s and 80’s when my time was spent standing with one leg shorter than the other on the side of a mountain as world-class ski racers flashed by.
Back then with film speed below 100 ISO (ASA to you older photogs) and manual focus lenses, one had less than one second between a sharp image and a forty cent slide sent to the trash bin. Yup! About $14 for 36 shots. One tended to be more deliberate on the shutter button at that time.
Captured here is Jarle Halsnes who now lives in Steamboat Springs, CO.
